The County Antrim game against Newington shall not be played on Thursday night as previous agreed with County Antrim. Aubry Ralph has stated on the official site that this decision could seriously call into our question our decision to future participating in the competition.

My own view is we should withdraw from it with immediate effect and tell them where they can stick their binlid.

As we finally find out that tomorrows matches are officially off, finally confirmed by IFA some serious questions need answered after Raymond Kennedy's interview.

* Why the heck was he not involved in talks earlier as he is the bloody President of the IFA

* What did he find so funny in his interview

* What sort of response is, "we are where we are"

* When the hell will the fans, the clubs and the players finally find out when the league will kick off.

* And finally, when will Mr Kennedy be resigning from his job.

Thursday 7th August

What can we say? At least we are in with a chance away from home as they don't look anything special. Well apart from cheating by throwing themselves to the ground.

Friday 4th July

Glentoran director Jim Rodgers says the East Belfast club hope to arrange a new date to play a Celtic XI after their 23 July fixture had to be postponed.
The Glasgow side are set to play Donegal Celtic on that date instead.
"Someone at Glasgow Celtic had made a prior commitment that they would play Donegal Celtic if they ever came to Belfast," explained Mr Rodgers.
"We hope to play Celtic later in the season and a statement will be made on Monday about the situation," he added.
"Hopefully a match can be fitted in and we are keen to get the fixture rearranged as there is massive interest in Celtic coming to Belfast."
The proposed match against Donegal Celtic is likely to be staged at Suffolk Road as Casement Park is unlikely to be available.
Antrim chairman John McSparran has told the Irish News that the idea of using the west Belfast GAA ground is "a non-starter".
"The matter would have to be referred to Congress or Special Congress, so I think Glasgow Celtic playing at Casement Park would be a non-starter," he told the newspaper.
Capacity at Suffolk Road is likely to be restricted to around 1600 for the fixture.

Portadown Appeal Rejected.

http://www.irishfa.com/the-ifa/news/3957/portadown-fc-appeal/

Portadown Football club lodged an appeal against the IFA Executive Committee’s decision not to include the club’s application in the IFA Invitational League process.

The IFA Executive Committee made the decision based on the fact that the club submitted their application after the stipulated deadline.

Portadown Football Club’s appeal against the decision was heard by an IFA Appeals Board on Monday 12 May 2008.  The IFA Appeals Board, after hearing lengthly and detailed submissions from Portadown Football Club, unanimously agreed to reject Portadown Football Club’s appeal on the basis that the required documentation was not submitted on or before the deadline set by the Association.  Therefore the original decision made by the IFA Executive Committee on Wednesday 30 April 2008 remains valid

PNorth Down GSC would like to extend our sincere tanks to everyone who attended the annual William Hill Prediction League League and North Down GSC Player of the Year Awards on Friday Night. I think a great night was had by all. Well done to all the winners and of course to William Hill for their continued support. As for Colin Nixon and Tim McCann, simply brilliant comedy duo.

Some pics of the night here.

 Monday 28th  April

Next Years season kicks off on Saturday 9th August with the CIS Cup reverting to the old style set up as a "home and away" straight knock out cup. More info to follow.

 Thursday 24th  April

To defuse any speculation that Glentoran were the team who were late putting in the papers for the Invitational league, I can confirm Glentoran were not late, it was Portadown and a meeting taking place atm with Statement to be made later.

 Saturday 19th  April

A hard fought 2-1 last night against Cliftonville at a wind swept Oval, Glentoran have gone joint top with Linfield with the Blues having the better goal difference. A wonder overhead kick from Hamilton and a superb header from Man of the Match Halliday were enough to clinch the points. It means regardless of todays result for Linfield, the league will go to the last game. (did you ever think that would happen in January)

Bad news on the injury front with Colin Nixon suffering ankle Ligament damage, Morris suffering a dead leg and groin strain and Michael Dougherty suffering a fracture in his wrist.

Wednesday 16th  April

North Down GSC would like to extend their deepest sympathy to the Best family on the sad passing of Dickie Best, father of the late, great George Best. RIP

A weakened Glentoran earned a credible draw against Derry City last night after going 1-0 down, Colin Nixon scored the equaliser to earn a share of the spoils.

Don't forget that Glentoran entertain Cliftonville at The Oval on Friday night with Sky Sports also covering the match live.

Thursday 10th  April

The remaining tickets on sale for this weekends League Game at Windsor Park shall be sent to the usual ticketing outlets tonight.

Wednesday 9th  April

On behalf of everyone at North Down GSC can I wish Sammy Hughes all our very best and our thoughts are with him at this moment in time as he is battling a serious illness.

Monday 7th  April

North Down GSC have a bus running to Windsor Park on Saturday. The bus will leave The Railway Bar in Newtownards at 12.45 and stops at The Elk at 1pm and shall leave from the Westbourne at 1.30pm. Guests very welcome.

Don't forget tonights game against Linfield at The Oval is a Setanta Cup match and is live at 8pm with a 8.05pm kick off.

 Sunday 6th  April

Glentoran continued their fantastic run getting 29 points out of an available 33 points with a 2-0 league win away at the Crues, with two goals from Dean Fitzgerald. The only downside of the day was Linfield winning 5-0 against Newry meaning we have to beat them a massive 3-0 next to go top of the league. A massive ask of the lads, but all we can do is go for it.

The William Hill Prediction League enters the last 3 weeks with things getting very tight at the top. Stevey Graham leads the race with his team "Sas is a real header" with 234 points from David Baker "Allllright Dave" with 231 points and the previous long time leader Simon Graham with "Swift Exit" on 229 points. This weeks highest score was Davy McKeag "The Shada a Scraba" with a massive 13 points.

Saturday 22nd  March

After a great 3-0 win at the Oval today with goals from a Nixon penalty and Scullion and Boyce and Cliftonville getting beat 2-1 by Coleraine, Glentoran are now only 3 points of the top of the league. Can Miracle happen?....................

The tables have been updated for this weeks Predictions and Tuesday's
fixtures are already online for you.

Things are getting tight at the top now with only 7 points splitting the
top 3 teams and only 4 points between long term leader Swift Exit

and Sas is a real Header, with  Alllllllllllllllllllllllright Dave now

only 3 behind him.

This weeks highest points scorer was 4th placed Swift Success with a
massive 13 points, propelling him into 4th spot.

Friday 14th  March

All the members of North Down GSC would like to extend our deepest sympathies to club member Neil Armstrong (Nelson) who's mother died suddenly last night.

 Sunday 2nd March

Dear oh Dear oh Dear. How else can we describe yesterday. Mac has to raise the players morale after yesterdays performance or the best we'll manage this year is, The Bin Lid, 3rd in League, shambolic Q/Final of Irish Cup and no doubt our usual Setanta flop.

Friday 29th February

Fancy an All Ireland League or want to know more about an All Ireland League?

Everyone who has voted  by email shall have their votes updated when the vote caster is ready.

Tomorrow see's us take on a Donegal Celtic in the Irish Cup side full of confidence after their draw with Linfield last week. I can't see this game being as easy as the last game against DC when we recorded a 5-1 win at The Oval. I would take a 1-0 win though i fancy 3-0.

Remember the William Hill Prediction League cut off time this week is 12 noon tomorrow

Monday 25th February

As you can see at the top of the page, we are running a competition for the Referee of the Year Award. This will be presented to the
